Apartment Therapy: Creating A Cozy Christmas Corner

I hope you all had a great weekend! Today I am bringing you a little Apartment Therapy: Creating A Cozy Christmas Corner! This year, I have had to fight to stay positive when decorating for Christmas. I am not gonna lie, leaving our home this past year and returning to apartment life while Chris is in grad school here in New York has not been the easiest. You just forget how much space you have in a home. 🙂 When it came time to decorate for Christmas, I found myself sad about not having a mantle to decorate and not enough room to put up a big tree. That left me with a choice, be miserable or find the positive. I set to work making our cozy apartment Christmas ready.

Today in today’s “issue” of Apartment Therapy: Creating A Cozy Christmas Corner I am showing you how easy it is to create a space for you or your child that can be a place to unwind and enjoy a “picnic” by the Christmas tree. 🙂 You do not need a big space to this! Since our apartment is tiny, I started with just a small tree this year. I ran to Hobby Lobby, grabbed a few shatter proof ornaments and quickly assembled this tree. Find a corner to place the tree, either in a playroom, bedroom or living room is ideal. George is a big fan of books so a corner in his room worked perfectly.

Next up, find all the cozy throws and pillow you have lying around to assemble on the floor. I used my favorite fur throw from World Market and a few pillow that normally hang out in my giant basket. Georgie is a big fan of snacking so cookies and muddy buddies were a favorite while I snapped photos. It is amazing how treats motivate a child to do the right thing! 🙂 Ofcourse the treats and hot coco are not always lying there but they make for a fun afternoon distraction when we are stuck inside because of rain or snow. Creating this space has encouraged us to turn off the TV and cozy up with our favorite Christmas books. I am really trying to soak in every moment of this season. The older George gets, the magic returns to Christmas. It is amazing to see it thru their eyes.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great week!
