This gorgeous black jumpsuit from Tobi is a keeper for sure. I am in love with the wide legs and flowy fabric. The jumpsuit is one of those pieces you must try before you become a believer. I confess, it took me a while to hop on this trend. Jumpsuits were first seen in the 70’s. When they came back in the 2000’s many fashion experts believed they would be short lived. However, years later they are still around and more popular than ever. The beauty of the jumpsuit is they are as easy to dress up as they are to dress down. Here are a few of my tips to get you started on finding the perfect style.
First, determine if you fall in the tall or short category. If you are tall you can either wear a flowy wide legged suit or a cropped legged jumpsuit. Keep in mind that the top is as important as the bottom. A halter style or racer back is perfect for those with a long torso and neck. If you are short, look for a jumpsuit with a high waist to make your legs appear longer. I would steer clear of a wide legged style and opt for a more tapered leg. I would also consider the print before your purchase. A busy print can overwhelm a small frame.
Second, determine your body shape. Are you curvy or slender? If you are curvy, look for a jumpsuit that hits you at your natural waist. If you are slender then find a suit that is either peplum or has a tie waist to give you more of an hourglass shape.
Finally, regardless of your shape and size, wear a heel with your suit. I personally love a good wedge sandal. Your goal when wearing a jumpsuit is to look as long and lean as possible.
