Well we finally made it to Ithaca New York. What a trip that was! This place is stunning and just a little quirky! The weather is superb right now and I am not in any hurry for winter to arrive. In the past week I have had countless people ask me if we have experienced a winter here yet, that makes me a little bit scared! 🙂 Ithaca New York is really a gorgeous place and a really big change from the south. I was not expecting it to be as rural as it is. There are countless farms dotting the hills (which seem like mountains to us!) and gorgeous orchards along the roads. Apple season cannot get here fast enough! Saturday we visited the farmers market and I was so impressed with the people that show up and the gorgeous produce and products. We stocked up on fresh eggs, bread, blueberries and green beans for the week. I hope to make that a weekend tradition.
George has made the transition to Ithaca New York easily. When he arrived last Saturday with my mom, I had his room set up and all his previously boxed up toys laid out. It was like Christmas morning for the little guy. We spent a lot of family time this week hiking various trails and getting acquainted with the area. Chris starts orientation this week at Cornell and his classes begin next week. I think we are both a little nervous about it! I am already dreading the late study nights and the time away he will have to spend from us. I know it will be worth it in the end. My goal for the week is to set George and I up on a routine. I desperately need one and I feel like he is happier with structure.
We visited the Cornell Botanical Gardens last week. These gardens are stunning and were the perfect day date as a family. I have a feeling we will be visiting them often. I wore this fabulous black knit dress from Sexy Modest Boutique. It is beyond comfortable and I cannot recommend it enough. I will be doing a giveaway on my Instagram later today for one. Make sure to follow along!
Thank you for allowing me to ramble and bit. I hope to be back up and blogging more consistently now that we are settled. XO!
