The First Year Mom – A Look Back

First Time Mom

Last week George turned one.   In more ways than one I was most definitely the typical “first year mom”,  Last Saturday I pondered how much our life changed within a year.  I remember when we took George home thinking, “oh my goodness, I hope I can keep him alive.”  Looking back I laugh but in the moment it seemed and is such a huge responsibility to become a parent.

It amazes me how much George changed within a year. From nursing around the clock to feeding himself, from laying still on the floor to crawling, from cooing to saying words, from waking up all night to sleeping though the night, from receiving tons of kisses to giving kisses, from looking at his toys to being actually able to play with them, and the list could go on and on. I tell every new mom I know that the first year really does fly by and to enjoy every moment. When you are sleep deprived those first few months it is easy to think it will never end, but it does and all to quickly.

George has over all been such an easy baby to raise this first year.  He is sweet and so affectionate.  His favorite thing right now is to give me hugs as he eats.  Food and milk have a way of getting all over me but I try not to mind! 🙂  One thing I have realized in the first year is that there is no manual for being a mommy. Motherhood gets thrust upon us in a moment but it is definitely a lifetime of learning.  What were some of your hardest moments and best moments of becoming a mom?

Thanks so much for following along and stopping by.  If you are looking for the perfect pair of black leggings, look no further than these Yummie leggings. They are so soft and offer tummy shaping panel. #momwin 🙂 Also, this tunic pop over top is the perfect lounge piece to pair with these leggings. I will be living in both of these this upcoming holiday season. Have a great week!
