Necklace Trends For Spring

Happy Friday!  I thought it would be fun to round up a few gold necklace trends for the spring season.  Jewelry is one of the easiest ways you can update your look.  A necklace can be the perfect way to complete any outfit. It adds a hint of glamour and sophistication. It is the sort of accessory that can make you look and feel like a million dollars. A plain black dress can instantly become red carpet-worthy with a gorgeous necklace providing the finishing touch. But, what style of necklace should you opt for? Let’s take a look at some of the hottest trends…

Short and simplistic

Let’s begin with a trend that has been running riot over the past few months.  Short necklaces that lie on the collarbone are extremely popular. Simplistic is the route to go down when going for this option.  Not only will this have the wow factor but it will be extremely versatile as well. In fact, one of the best things about this trend is the fact that it suits all women. If you wanted to go for something more unique you could always bring some color into the mix by using diamonds and gemstones together.

Long pendant necklaces

In direct contrast to the former trend, long pendant necklaces are also extremely popular. The long gold coin necklaces are a good way to try this look.  These dainty necklaces are easily paired with a short one.  If you really want to know how to rock this trend, you should opt for a thin long chain with a standout pendant on the end. You can opt for one big stone – teardrop shapes tend to be popular in this sense. Otherwise, you can opt for a metal shape, such as a heart, that is encrusted with lots of little stones or diamonds. It all depends on your own personal taste.

Bib necklaces

Bib necklaces hit the catwalks several years ago and they have made a comeback already. This is a great trend for those who consider themselves to be cool and trendy. The gold bib necklace has a quirky vibe however it is surprisingly easy to wear. They work particularly well under collared shirts and there is a wealth of unique designs available when going down this route. You will want to make sure your shirt stays tucked in if you’re going to sport this trend in the workplace, though, creating a stunning, polished look. There is no right or wrong; be as unusual as you like. In fact, this is why a lot of people opt for custom jewelry when going for this trend. You can have the bib necklace designed and created in order to completely suit your taste.

Layered Style

One of my favorite trends for the spring and summer season is the layered necklace approach.  I love the combination of 2 or 3 dainty necklaces together.  Gold is the metal I am opting for this season but silver works as well.  Finding necklaces of different lengths works best with the trend.  Combining a choker style and a coin style pendant seems to be 2 necklaces that I am seeing a lot of together.  This look can take you from the pool to date night and can really be inexpensive to attain with brands like Gorjana and Madewell.

Before concluding it is important to determine how to match your necklace to the neckline of your dress. You don’t want the necklace and the neckline to be in competition with one and other. If you are wearing a V neck dress the necklace should fall above the neckline. A necklace that follows the contour of the neckline is ideal in relation to round necklines. Bold chunky necklaces work well for polo tops whilst long necklaces are perfect for those dresses with a boat neck. Square necklines lend themselves well to short necklaces as do strapless dresses. Thus it is worth bearing this in mind if you want to show off your new stunning necklace in style.
