Happy Monday! With summer right around the corner it is time to pull out all that fun gingham. This gingham skirt is just the piece for a picnic or summer vacation. As a mom, the midi length is perfect for sitting on the ground or picking up babies. The last thing I want to worry about is being exposed! 🙂 I have really turned to gingham as the summer print for me the past few summers. It is a fun, playful print that gives us all a break from the moody fall plaids. I love all the bright gingham prints this year, and this gingham skirt is a winner.
Summer, the word just rings in my ears. I am much more of summer person than I am a winter person. Give me the heat any day over cold weather. Unfortunately, this will be my last Louisiana summer for a while. In August we are packing up for an adventure! My husband got into Cornell’s graduate school for business and we will be relocating to Ithaca, New York this fall. As excited as I am for this adventure and fresh start, I am equally as terrified. Louisiana has been my home for the last 30 years and I will miss it dearly. I am finding solace that I will still visit often since my family lives here. Life has a way of turning unexpected pages and this is one of them for us. For years, we have talked about the possibility of him pursuing a Masters, but in the back of my mind I wondered if he actually would. I am super proud of his hard work and look forward to our new life in New York. All your cold weather peeps need to give this southern girl tips on dressing!! 🙂 Those winter coats I have had stored up for a while will actually be broken out! And for once I will get to experiece what a true fall feels like. That I am looking forward to.
So with 3 months to go, we put our house on the market. Please give me hope that this is not an impossible feat with a baby. We literally spent all day cleaning and packing up stuff. How have we accumulated so much in the last 2 years since owning a home?! The next few months are going to be busy and hectic, but I am trying to make the most of every second. If any of you have visited Ithaca or the surrounding areas, please send me info on what there is to do or places to visit. I have a feeling us southerners are in for quite the experiece! 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great Monday. XO!
