The long lit evenings of summer give me an elusion of just a little more time in my day for summer unwind time! There is something about that extra day light that leaves me lingering over that good book or pod cast instead of rushing off to bed. Now I do plenty of that too, but I am really enjoying these long days. As a mom, one of my goals for the new year was to carve out a little time during the week to unwind. Here are few ways unwinding this summer.
- Once a week at home facials. Ya’ll I am really bad at New Year’s resolutions, but this is actually one I have kept. Each Sunday night is my night that I spend a little extra time on my skin, mainly my face. I love incorporate new products and old favorites and pamper myself a little. This summer, I am trying a new skin care line that I will be sharing more about Friday. It has brought my skin back brighter and better than ever. Seriously. I have also incorporated peels into my facial routine once a week and have noticed a huge difference! Check out my favorite here.
- Turning off Instagram. Yep, IG for me is a huge time suck not to mention frustrating. For me, it is one part of my job in this blogging world and with all the changes has really been aggravating lately. I have taken 2 4 day breaks in the last month and it has been amazing how much happier I feel. Since when did I allow an app to dictate my mood?! Nope, not gonna let that happen. I am returning to my roots on IG and posting what makes me happy instead of trying to beat the algorithm. (You blogger girls know what I mean!) 🙂
- Listening to pod casts. Right now I haven’t started a good book so I have been listening to pod casts at night after I get in bed. They have been amazing. I love to turn off my lamp and lay in the darkness and listen to one. It is relaxing and so nice to tune my mind onto something good and beneficial. It seems like the cares of the day fade away. Perfection. For me , I listed to a lot of Christian women podcasts that are more like Bible studies or parenting talks. (G is hitting that tantrum stage so I think parenting talks are gonna top my list lol!)
What does your summer unwind time look like?! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Wednesday! XO!
