It’s Good To Be A Girl: A New Orleans Guide

Last October I had the privilege to shoot a Girl’s New Orleans Guide with Vera Bradley.   This video is a part of their It’s Good To Be A Girl campaign.  Now that is a campaign that I can 100% get behind! My favorite part of the day was asking the women we met why they loved being a girl.   It was refreshing to hear all of their answers and realize that we all share the same loves, shopping, bringing children into the world and empowering women around us.

The day began at the iconic Cafe Du Monde.  There is no better place to soak up a crisp fall day than here, and is a MUST in a good New Orleans guide, sipping coffee and eating beignets.  It’s a great place to people watch and listen to some of New Orleans best street music.  So tap along and order another round of beignets.  It’s New Orleans and no one is counting calories!

We then hopped on a street car and headed uptown to Magazine street.  Magazine street is home to some of the best boutiques, eateries and antique stores in New Orleans.  It is a 6 mile stretch that you can easily fill up an entire day enjoying.  A couple of my favorite boutiques in the area is Haus 131 and The Elizabeth Chronicles.  They are both owned by young girls that are thriving in the New Orlean’s shopping scene. Haus 131 has something for everyone and their shoe selection is on point!  If you are wanting a cute graphic New Orleans’ tee that doesn’t scream tourist, then definitely snag one at The Elizabeth Chronicles.

I was able to meet up with friends at Kenton’s and indulge in a Fried Green Tomato sandwhich.  Seriously amazing! From there, we girls wanted to treat ourselves to a little spa experience at Buff Beauty Bar.  I had one of the best manicures here.  My polish literally stayed on for 2 weeks and it wasn’t gel either!

For an afternoon pick me up we headed to Sucre where I ordered a decadent chocolate dessert and latte.  Sucre is my favorite sweet shop in the city.  From macarrons to their amazing King Cakes, it should definitely be on your list when you visit New Orleans.  After reviving myself with caffiend, I enjoyed strolling through the French Quarter.  I would highly recommend saving time in your trip to wander around and admire the gorgeous archituecture.  It is so peaceful and a great way to soak up the city.

I cannot say enough of how grateful I am for the oportunity to work with Vera Bradley and produce this video.  It was one of those pinch me moments!  I would love to hear below why for you It’s Good To Be A Girl! Thanks for stopping by! XO!
