Fur Trimmed Cape + Finding Contentment

Those warmer temps didn’t last too long, hence this Chic Wish fur trimmed cape for today’s post! It was definitely the thing to wear to church yesterday as I bundled up for 20 degree temps. I can handle the cold a bit better though when there is no snow on the ground. For now, I am counting that as a win. We had a gorgeous sunny morning here in New York and for a second I almost dreamed it was spring. One day I will wake up and it will be! Ahhhh.

While we are on the topic of spring, that would seem as the perfect segue to talk about contentment, right?! 🙂 During these winter months I have determined not to complain as much as I did last year. Last year experiencing my first real winter was brutal. I was more than over it by the time May rolled around. This year, I have re-evaluated my contentment barometer. How can I embrace contentment in my daily life? What triggers my discontentment? Does social media affect the way I view my life? These are questions I have asked myself over the last few months.

Contentment is often learned in the trenches.

Right?! When everything is hunky dory we don’t need the contentment reminder. However, when life isn’t going as planned that is when I have needed someone to preach a sermon on this topic. 🙂

For me, finding contentment during this season of my life has meant to take a step back at times from social media. There are only so many pretty white kitchens I can look at without comparing my less than stellar apartment one to the ones I see on Instagram! 🙂

During my Bible times in the morning, I have also copied down verses on contentment and committed them to memory. Combating negative emotions starts in our minds. Feeding and reminding ourselves of truth will in turn help us embrace life’s seasons – the good and bad!

Finding contentment is a journey. Some weeks I am better at it than others. I hope you all have a good week! Thanks for stopping by!

That jacket is gorgeous! I love your morning dedication to reading the bible. There is something I love so much about doing just that with a cup of coffee or tea that creates a sense of calm to conquer the day. Enjoy your week!

What a luxurious item of clothing to own. I love that fur trim on the cape! And your comment about contentment really hit me. It’s so cool how that was something you learned during your time in Scripture.

Finding contentment seems to be one of the biggest struggles in today’s world (me included!) but you could not do anything better than to turn to His Word like you have done to help settle your discontentment! Taking your lead on this!

Feeling content with our lives seems like far bigger a challenge that it should be. We live in a time of constant comparison. We see people enjoying beaches and warm weather and wish we were there, then a few seconds later we see people out enjoying a winter wonderland and want that too, only fixating on what others have that we perceive we do not. Why is so hard to find the best parts of the life we have and enjoy them?
