Savvy Minerals Makeup Review

Savvy Mineral Makeup
Clean Beauty

3 months ago I purchased my Savvy Minerals makeup kit. I was finally serious about getting rid of all the toxic, trashy makeup in my beauty cabinet. I am not going to lie, there is a learning curve at first in applying mineral makeup. After a few tries, I have it down and can put it on as quickly as my other makeup.

So why did I overhaul my makeup bag? The beauty industry is one of the most under regulated industries out there. To make my case clearer, the last piece of regulation that set any standard for this industry was passed in 1938. You can do the math, but that has left years and years of no regulation by the government. Basically the beauty industry is free from oversight and can do what they want.

The E.U. has banned 1,300 ingredients in personal care products that could be harmful or toxic, guess how many the U.S. has banned? A whopping 11. That is unacceptable if you ask me.

To keep from getting all scientific, I started asking myself, why I cared so much about the food I ate but not as much about what I was literally slathering all over my skin every day?! It didn’t make much sense. I began investigating various clean beauty companies and trying their products. Today I want to introduce you to the Savvy Mineral line from Young Living.

Savvy Minerals makeup is truly a line you can feel good about. They formulate their products with the highest quality ingredients. Many mineral makeup products are composed of cheap fillers such as bismuth, talc, and other nasty ingredients such as parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, nanoparticles, synthetic fragrance and synthetic colorants. Savvy Minerals uses essential oils, high quality minerals, mica (to color their products) Aspen Bark extract and naturally derived ingredients to create this gorgeous line.

I understand that overhauling your makeup bag is pricey, but isn’t your health worth it? To ease the cost, the best way to jump start your clean beauty cabinet is to purchase the starter kit. In this kit you get a foundation, blush, 3 eye shadows, misting spray, brush, lip gloss and a lavender essential oil for $160. This is how I got rid of a lot of junk that I was using and jumped right into a clean beauty regimen. I bought the Warm 2 starter kit and have loved every bit of it. From there it is easy to add a product or 2 here and there and build up your arsenal of various shades and items. If you want to snag you a starter kit head on over here!

Let me know if you have questions about shades and such and I will be happy to answer them. 🙂

Such an interesting read. I’ll be honest – I’ve never preferred mineral makeup on my skin because I have a lot of texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne – so it doesn’t really apply well or look right on me. But I know it works wonders for so many!

Im definitely trying to ‘clean up’ my makeup bag – we are so surrounded by toxins and chemicals that we don’t need and that are hurting the environment. Definitely looking into these guys-; thanks for sharing!
