I started out using a desensitizing gel for 4 days. This hydrated my teeth before using the whitening gel. When I began to whiten, I still used the desensitizing gel for 45 minutes before and then used the whitening gel for 45 minutes after and an additional 20 minutes of desensitizing gel because of my de-calcification. (More on that later!) After 14 treatments, I could tell a noticeable difference. My teeth never became sensitive feeling like they had when I had to other whitening treatments. One issue I have struggled with is de-calcification. This is when there are white spots on your teeth. De-calcification is when calcium and phosphate are pulled from your teeth. Braces can be one of the factors in creating these white spots. I had two rounds of braces and definitely noticed that my spots got worse when I had them taken off. The desensitizing gel provided a great way to hydrate my teeth and replenish them with minerals.
