Outdoor Fall Decor

Happy October everyone! Where on earth did time go?! As I write I am 17 weeks pregnant today and definitely feel the time speeding up.  I think it may have something to do with chasing an almost 4 year old around all day.  G will be 4 in 3 weeks and it always makes me a bit sad to think how fast time is going by with him.  🙁

Today I thought it would be fun to show you how I decorated my front door area this year.  Outdoor fall decor ideas have always been one of my favorite searches on Pinterest and after being in an apartment while Chris was in school for 2 years, it is nice to be back in a home.  I didn’t want to go too crazy with decorating and dropping a ton of money on pumpkins that will probably rot by the end of the month with the intense heat we are still having so I opted to mix real and fake pumpkins together.  These fake white pumpkins look so real that for their $5 price, I was impressed! It is a good way to be able to save a few items to use again for next year.

I feel like outdoor fall decor basics include some type of hay, (these cute little bales were $3!) pumpkins, baskets, and mums.  A cute outdoor mat goes a long way too but I kept mine basic for now! If I see a cute gingham one somewhere I might snag it to layer underneath mine.  I purchased this bronze galvanized tub at World Market a while back and cannot be happier with the way it looks among the fall decor.  Adding height with bales of hay or a tub like this is key to getting a layered look without porch steps! I might add a few corn stalks or lanterns later this month to carry us into November, but overall I love the way this front door decor turned out! My total bill at Walmart was $65 for everything (not including the tub).  I set a $100 budget and definitely fell way under which makes me feel good! 🙂 What is your outdoor fall decor style at your home?

Can  I just add that if you do not have a pair of mules for your closet this fall, do yourself a favor and snag a pair!  They are the most comfortable, versatile shoe.  Sam Edelman and Jaggar make great options.
