There is nothing more beautiful than white dresses for spring and summer. In fact, every closet needs one. White can be a bit stark so I tend to gravitate towards off white or ivory. It has been said in recent years the LBD (little black dress) has met its match with the LWD (little white dress). I feel like a balanced closet needs both. Obviously, if you are not a bride you do not wear white to a wedding so black is a good idea. However, a white dress can be worn for graduations, bridal showers, birthday parties, and various spring and summer celebrations. I like classic fits when it comes to these 2 dresses. Think a sheath or pencil dress, a simple A-line style or buttoned up shirt style are good places to start. Once you get these 2 dresses in your closet, you will start reaching for them over and over again. I just updated my LBD a year ago. The one I had was literally worn out!
