The Jacket Maker: Custom Leather Jacket

As we head into the New Year, we also head into the coldest months.  This custom leather jacket from The Jacket Maker is going to keep me warm during the next few months of winter!  Every woman’s closet needs a classic leather jacket.  This jacket is made to order and simply gorgeous.  It pairs perfectly with jeans, dresses, and even loungewear.

About The Jacket Maker

The Jacket Maker was born after discovering that the long supply chain of distributors, wholesalers, and retailers coupled with costly marketing campaigns drove prices of luxury leather jackets over $1000.  On the flip side of a quality leather jacket is the fast fashion jacket that will not hold up many seasons.  The Jacket Maker aimed to cut through the chaos of quality leather and bring an affordable product to market.

For this post, I was able to simply send over my measurements and receive this brown leather jacket within weeks.  The brand will also work with you if you have a specific design in mind as well as offer assistance in choosing the right leather for your budget.  I chose this gorgeous leather biker jacket

Ways To Style Leather Jacket

Leather jackets are an all-weather essential with almost unlimited outfit potential.  Here are a few ways you might try one:

  • Jeans and white tee – this has to be one of the most classic ways to wear one and I would say the most timeless!
  • Over dresses – immediately bring a bit of sass to your flirty sweater, maxi, or sheer dress with a touch of leather.
  • Biker shorts – this is a great casual take on a comfy outfit and perfect when the fall season begins.
  • Leggings – as with biker shorts, leggings also are great with a leather jacket.
  • Sparkles – don’t forget that a leather jacket is a great piece to throw on with sequins be it a dress or skirt.

Types of Leather Jackets

The Jacket Maker offers every kind of leather jacket possible.  Here are a few you might consider when evaluating what your closet needs:

  • Bomber Jacket – fitted in the cuffs and bottom but loose in the mid-section with a zipper enclosure.
  • Biker Jackets –  They are slim-fitted which I think makes them a bit more refined and timeless.
  • Motorcycle Racer Jacket – The center symmetric front zipper paired with the snap-tab collar and standard zipper pockets gives the jacket its characteristic look and feel.
  • Blazer – the leather blazer is more polished and elegant, pair it with a buttoned-down or figure-hugging dress.
  • Shearling leather jacket – perfect for cold weather and your next ski vacation.

How To Take Care of Leather Jacket At Home

Leather jackets are certainly not cheap, although The Jacket Maker has made it more affordable than most.  To take care of your leather jacket to make sure it lasts for a long time here are practical ways to maintain this closet staple.  A few simple items to keep in your arsenal are soft sponges or cloths, liquid dish soap, and leather conditioner.

Make sure to regularly wipe your jacket with a soft cloth to remove dirt and dust if you haven’t worn it in a while.  If your jacket gets a stain, blot the jacket with water and a soft sponge gently working from the center out, DO NOT RUB the leather!  To keep the leather from cracking use a leather conditioner.  As always test in a small hidden spot first before applying to the jacket.  One leather conditioner I have used over the years is Leather Honey and I have always been happy with the results.

If you have been on the hunt for a perfect custom leather jacket, I hope you look into The Jacket Maker.  You will not be disappointed with their quality or customer service!
