Down To Earth Accessory Style

If you’re all about the boho look then, in most cases, you don’t want to go too hard with the ostentatiousness. You want to keep the vibes chill, meaning that rocking a down-to-earth look is usually the way to go. However, too many people think that this means stripping away any personality and charm and opting for the most boring option. That doesn’t have to be the case. Here are a few ways to make good use of accessories that can keep down-to-earth looking delightful.

Keep it practical

If you want a little extra style without looking like you have to try for it at all, then going for more practical accessories that still looking excellent could be the way to go. The Athleisure look is a perfect example of this principle in motion. However, there’s one that’s a lot more widely used. We’re talking about rocking a good pair of shades, of course.

Go for the natural look

If you’re trying to keep your style a little more the subtle side, it might not do to go around wearing a whole bunch of glitz and glam. Check out this selection of tribal wood earrings that show you don’t have to invest in precious metals and gems to nail a gorgeous look, either. Rather, natural, more down-to-earth materials like glass or jade can fit more in line with your style.  I love the use of straw bags or burlap bags to bring out the natural look for any outfit.  The beauty regarding these materials is that you can wear them with anything as they are neutral in color!

Bring something borrowed

Nothing screams boho quite like an outfit that’s not entirely (or even partially) new. If you’re a thrifty shopper at thrift stores, then you should also be keeping an eye out for any vintage jewelry that might be on sale. This tends to be the kind of thing that goes first, but even cheaper pieces can be fun to play with, mixing and matching to create a combination that you’re certain to not see anyone else wearing any time soon.

Don’t forget to recycle

Perhaps you want the sustainable cred that comes with wearing accessories that aren’t store-bought, alongside the natural look. Well, then there’s nothing quite like following a few DIY designs to make your own jewelry. If you live on the beach, then be sure to take advantage of the pebbles and shells all around to make some jewelry that’s super simple, yet brings a very earthy charm with it as well. Plus, you can say that your pieces are truly and completely unique.  I’m thinking George would love a few shell making ideas to keep him busy during these quarantine days!

Don’t forget your hats and bags

You don’t want a look that’s too polished, so you can try accessorizing without too much jewelry, as well. Keep away from the luster by instead finding a great hat, such as a straw hat, alongside bags like a good canvas tote. It’s even better if they’re looking just a little antiqued or worn-out. You don’t have to forgo color or gems entirely, but you don’t want to overdo it, either.

Boho chic doesn’t mean lacking personality. It means being comfortable in your own skin, but also in your own style. Hopefully, these tips help you find a way to do that.
