Everyone goes through stages of thinking they have nothing to wear when in fact they have a wardrobe bursting with clothes. It’s easy to become complacent and bored with what you have, and sometimes you just need a reminder of those gorgeous garments you already own and perhaps you need to give them a little attention and upgrade them so that you fall back in love with them.

Change hems

It’s so easy to give yourself a new pair of trousers, simply adjust the length! If you have a pair of trousers that are too long, chop off the bottoms to make them cropped, even change them into shorts. If you’re not ready to commit to chopping them off just yet then roll up your trousers. You could also or cut jeans above the ankles and let them fray in the wash.

Buy some polish

When it comes to your shoes, first of all, it is always good to know a good shoe repair place and get more life out of them. Then you should also invest in some leather polish to clean up shoes and handbags and make them last another season.

Change Small Details

Update old-style clothes by changing little things on them. You could crop the bottom of a jacket or crop sleeves, change the buttons, add brooches or tie ribbons or scarfs to your clothes to add colour. There are loads of things you can do, and you’ll be surprised how much the little details make all the difference.

Change A Dress Into A Skirt

Sometimes a dress loses it’s appeal because you’ve already styled it every way possible, it became dated in its style, or it no longer fits you correctly. An easy fix for that is to turn it into a skirt, quick and straightforward. You may need a new elastic waistband or zip, and you may need someone else to do this for you, so pop to a tailor and see what your options are.

Crop Your Tops

Whether you take scissors to old sweaters and tees, or if you knot them into crops, the change will do the trick. Knotting your shirt right at the middle can look cool and lends a more creative finish than just tucking it in. Try it with any tops; you can turn old jumpers or sweatshirts into more modern, frayed tops and use them for layering.

Tie-Dye

You could dye your clothes a new colour, or even better than that, make yourself a tie-dye dress or top or trousers. First of all, it’s fun to do, second of all you can choose your own colours and add as many of you like, thirdly it’s comfortable and last but not least, you’ll have a unique item of clothing that no one else had.

Shape an old scarf into a wrap

If you have an old scarf, it’s easy to shape it into a wrap. You could do this with any material and again make yourself something unique and gorgeous that you can get wear out of in the summer rather than the winter.
