How To Wear 2020 Color Of The Year

Each year Pantone announces it’s color of the year.  This year, every closet probably already owns a piece or two of the 2020 color of the year, classic blue.   Technically speaking, this color is often called royal blue or cobalt blue.  After last year’s electric living coral color, this year’s color of the year embraces tranquility and calm.  It produces visions of oceanside vacations and relaxing days.  Blue has always been known as a color to encourage a calm atmosphere and it will definitely bring stability to any wardrobe. In design, this blue is often called an anchoring color.  It is equally masculine as it is feminine and works for any skin tone.

After the bustle of the holiday season and over the top festive looks, this year’s color will bring a relaxed vibe for the new year.  Blue is one of the colors that pair well with almost any other color.  I’m loving this gorgeous blue sweater from J.O.A.   If you are the mood for bright color combinations, blue looks fantastic with coral, yellow, pink and fuchsia.  If neutral tones are more your style, try pairing blue with black.  As opposite as the colors can be, they actually work well together.  Blue also looks classic with camel and ivory tones.  With blue being such a classic color, do not be surprised to see it popping up in timeless styles such as suiting, dresses and blouses.

Blue accessories are popping up everywhere for that special pop to any outfit.  From headbands to purses to sneakers there is a blue accessory for everyone and every style.  During the next few weeks of chilly weather, why not try a rich cobalt blue coat to throw on over your daily outfit.  From cropped jackets to blazers to oversize furry coats, this blue shade is destined to make any look pop.

So toss aside any ideas of those winter blues and embrace the 2020 color of the year!
