Delicious Christmas Pretzels

When the holidays rolled around each year, my mom would make these chocolate and vanilla coated Christmas pretzels. On Saturday, I spent the day in the kitchen making these Christmas pretzels and sugar cookies for my little students. I had no idea how time consuming these yummy Christmas pretzels were! After I coated them with the chocolate and vanilla candy coating I had to fish each one out and let it dry. I came up with a little trick to speed up the process. To drain off the excess coating I placed my toaster oven rack over a roasting pan covered with foil then I just laid the pretzels on top and the coating dripped right off, leaving the Christmas pretzels much neater! To add a little something special to them I chose to top the vanilla ones with toasted almonds and crushed candy canes (yum!). The chocolate Christmas pretzels were topped with Heath bar bits and Christmas sprinkles. Let me tell you, they are addicting and the perfect combo of sweet and salty! Enjoy!
